Alumnus Gong Hongjia Ranks 17th on Forbes China Rich List 2013

On Oct.15th, 2013 Forbes China Rich List was released. HUST alumnus Gong Hongjia and his wife. Chen Chunmei ranked No. 17 with 26.33 billion RMB in assets，jumping from No.29 last year.

Forbes China Rich List is evaluated by world-famous commercial magazine—Forbes. It updates rankings of Chinese plutocrats once a year.

Graduated from HUST in 1986 （majoring in Computer Science）, Gong is an outstanding technical entrepreneur and investor. Gong 's fortune soared from $2.4 billion a year ago on brisk business at security equipment supplier Hikvision, where he is vice chairman and the largest individual shareholder.

In 2010, Gong couple ranked No. 59 with 10 billion RMB in assets. In 2011, they jumped to No. 38 and No.29 in 2012. And during 2013, their net assets were increased from 15.12 billion to 26.23 billion, which enable them to rank the 17th in the list. It was the first time that they edged themselves into the top 20 powers.

Besides, in 2013 Hurun China Richest Investors List, a sub-list of Hurun China Rich List, ranked Gong as the second with RMB 18 billion investment assets on Oct19th
